Hip to Be Square
Here's what I'm working on today: an eight-inch knitted square. I'm joining my blogging friend Laurie from Kitty's fiber journey in making squares for the KasCare Foundation's Knit a Square program. I'm starting with a plain garter stitch square. Maybe I'll get more creative as I go. The squares are turned into blankets for children in Africa who have been orphaned by AIDS. You can read more about it on Laurie's blog or the KasCare Foundation website.

What a great cause! That makes doing what you love so much more rewarding. I need to find something like that to do with my very few talents! Now I kinda wish I could knit.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful cause. I used to knit quite a bit many years ago when I was nursing. I'd take my knitting to night duty with me and it was a great way to get a few jumpers made for winter.
ReplyDeleteI can't tell you how grateful I am to Lynette for joining the challenge and blogging about it today. I didn't even ask her to! We know that you are a great cook Lynette, but what a wonderful person you are!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much to all of you for your interest in knit-a-square! Even if you don't knit or crochet, you can help by spreading the word to others. I have gotten so many page views today. It's really encouraging. This is a powerful example of the good the Internet can do in the world!
What a beautiful project to be involved in!!! The world needs more souls like you!! Hugs!!
