How Not to Complete an Assignment
When I have a complex assignment to complete, in this case an analysis of a survey for a consulting firm in Japan, I get a lot of other great things accomplished. For example, yesterday afternoon, instead of working on my project, which will when completed result in an actual paycheck, I cleaned my refrigerator from top to bottom. I removed every item, every shelf, every drawer. It is now a thing of beauty, cleanliness, and organization. Unfortunately, it does not come with a paycheck. Back to the grindstone!

I do the same thing sometimes - what I want to do instead of what I should be doing. For example, I should be catching up on my bookkeeping instead of web surfing.
ReplyDeleteI should be...except I'm on your excellent blog. I love your food photos!
ReplyDeleteThat fridge is a thing of beauty! At least your procrastination is productive!
ReplyDeleteIts the best time to clean the house..Hope you get the Christmas cleaning done before you finish your assignment!
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh...This happens to me too! But hey - that fridge DOES look great! =0)

No paycheck but it looks great! Hmmm, do I see some champagne?
ReplyDeleteLOL! Great post. I do the exact same thing. I work on everything else besides what I actually need to get done. But hey, now your fridge is organized! =)
ReplyDeleteI think Laurie said it best, at least you were productive, lol.
ReplyDeleteHaha! At least your fridge is pretty now!
ReplyDeleteI had to laugh when I read this entry. When I was teaching school, and grades or IEPs were due, my desk would suddenly become very clean. Maybe that is why my desk is so messy now... no more deadlines.
ReplyDelete@ Sher, not champagne exactly, Asti Spumante, my favorite celebration drink!
ReplyDeleteHaha, but it's beautiful!
ReplyDeleteOh, I so know what you are talking about! Even when logic tells me if I just START, that dreaded project will be done all the sooner. Sigh. But fantastic job on the refrigerator - the cleaning of which is a dreaded job of its own sort!
ReplyDeleteDough, Dirt & Dye
Haha I know about that!
ReplyDeleteGreat job on cleaning your fridge. hehe... At least you got one thing cross off the to do list. ;-)
