It was a busy morning at the strip mall when I stopped by for a haircut. The parking lot was filled with honkers.
I was able to very slowly get into a parking spot, then waited for the first goose group to pass by. As I quietly walked behind this group of geese, a couple of the goslings turned to follow me. (I am a natural leader, you know.) The adult geese weren't too happy about that, and let me know with some spirited hissing. Canada Geese have essentially become pests in our town, but those goslings are awfully cute!
See the second group coming along at the far right? Sorry for the photo quality -- shot with a cheapy LG phone. |

This made me smile! :) Thanks for sharing! xoxo
ReplyDeleteSo cute. Once I was on a very busy four lane highway. A mama duck and her ducklings started crossing in all the traffic. Luckily they al made it across. Mama duck had one ruffled feather and that was all. Amazing that all the cars stopped and wiated patiently.
ReplyDeleteI love this...it must have been fun to see!
ReplyDeleteThey are adorable aren't they! I had a goose lay eggs in my flower beds a few years ago, but she either abandoned the eggs or something happened to her, because she never came back to them. I felt bad and was trying to figure out how to keep them warm, but my husband put a stop to that plan.
ReplyDeleteI agree about baby geese! Geese are not the most pleasant creatures, but those babies are still really cute.
ReplyDeleteWe had a few goslings following mama and papa here in our apt complex. But they disappeared!? I don't know if they survived. Sad. Thanks for sharing your pictures!!!
ReplyDeleteThey are so funny waddling around the parking lot like they own it! We have two geese families at the nature preserve where I walk on my lunch hour and I have been hissed at quiet a few times...I just talk back to them and say oh move it and stop hissing at me! hee hee then I usually daydream about going back to work ( I work at a doctors office) completely beat up by mama and papa goose and how crazy funny that would be....but ouch! Have a safe Memorial Day weekend!!
ReplyDeleteHow gorgeous. What a wonderful start to the day. And what a lovely looking family. Well captured Posy xx
ReplyDeletehow cute...I once had a wild turkey chase my car because of the babies on the side of the road.

I love the goslings! Reminds me of "Make way for Ducklings" a favorite childhood book.
ReplyDeleteThey are very cute, but I know the adults are very agressive! Be careful!
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I know they're a pain sometimes, but the adults are so striking! I almost had a heart attack the other night when a momma duck led her string of babies across 4 lanes of traffic in front of us. They made it safely, but I don't think my heart rhythm was back to normal for at least an hour afterward.
ReplyDeleteThey're so lovely! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's too bad that Canadian geese make such a mess, because they are beautiful and the babies are adorable. :)
ReplyDeleteThey are so sweet....Happy Weekend friend!
ReplyDeleteWe get them in Louisiana during the fall, flying South. I guess we are pretty much as South as it gets. Always love to see them, though!
ReplyDeleteGoslings are so flipping cute! :D
ReplyDeleteNature's babies are my favorite part of Spring! We have a pond a block down and the geese families are always hanging out by the road. Don't you just love to watch them? And why do they pick parking lots to hang out in too?
ReplyDeleteAdorable, so cute they start following you hehe...
ReplyDeletegeese are mean! lol i'm glad you had fun with em though
